TVS Motors will launch Hybrid Scooty in 2010.<\/p>\n

Its heartening to see Indian Manufacturer going green and giving us First Hybrid Scooter.<\/p>\n

TVS has given us so many First :<\/p>\n

1> TVS Scooty – First Variomatic 60 CC scooterette
\n2>TVS Shogun in 1998 – First two stroke Bike With Catelytic Converter.
\n3> TVS Shaoline – First Bike with Five Gears (Except The Yamdoot RD 350)
\n4> TVS Fiero : First Bike featuring BS carbureted.
\n5> TVS APache RTR : Petel break Disk.<\/p>\n

Enough of TVS First.Following are the Features of TVS Streak Hybrid.<\/p>\n

This vehicle operates on Battery as well as Petrol,So one don’t need to worry about battery getting drained as Petrol is always available.The hybrid System charges the battery whenever breaks are applied,also conserves energy when the vehicle is stationary at a traffic signal or at a standstill by stopping the power source.
\n About the efficiency and the effect on environment,TVS claims to have achieved a 30 percent reduction in CO2 emissions, 25 percent reduction of HC + NOx and most importantly, a jump of around 30 percent in fuel economy,Really great hope this will reflect in real world performance.<\/p>\n

Following are the Different Modes available
\n1.Electric Only: For short trips and zero fuel consumption. The scooter runs solely on the electric motor power.
\n2.Engine Only: When the battery level is very low, the scooter runs on this mode.
\n3.Hybrid Economy: Both sources run as per the programmed strategy. Initially, only the electric motor is in operation and once the scooter goes over a programmed speed, say 25km\/h, the engine starts functioning as well.
\n4.Hybrid Power: Both engine and electric together for better acceleration from standstill. <\/p>\n
