{"id":302883,"date":"2010-02-10T12:43:11","date_gmt":"2010-02-10T17:43:11","guid":{"rendered":"11512 at http:\/\/www.wri.org"},"modified":"2010-02-10T12:43:11","modified_gmt":"2010-02-10T17:43:11","slug":"wri-applauds-establishment-of-noaa-climate-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/302883","title":{"rendered":"WRI Applauds Establishment of NOAA Climate Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.commerce.gov\/CommerceSecretary\/index.htm\">Department of Commerce Secretary Gary Locke<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.noaa.gov\/lubchenco.html\">National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Administrator Jane Lubchenco<\/a>, a former board member at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wri.org\/\">World Resources Institute (WRI)<\/a>, unveiled plans this week to establish the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.noaa.gov\/climate.html\">NOAA Climate Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wri.org\/profile\/jonathan-lash\">Jonathan Lash<\/a>, president of WRI, commends the administration for proposing the new office, which will integrate NOAA&#8217;s climate capabilities into a coordinated office, making climate information more accessible to governments and businesses.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;WRI applauds the creation of the National Climate Service. The impacts of climate change are already being felt, and the  nation needs the best possible science to develop its response. This service will help government, business and citizens to make well-informed decisions.
