That seems to have been a success, zoo spokesperson Judith Henke <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heraldsun.com.au\/news\/national\/dokkoon-the-elephants-baby-is-to-make-public-debut-at-melbourne-zoo\/story-e6frf7l6-1225828385230\">told Australia&#8217;s Herald Sun<\/a>. &quot;She is progressing really well, so it&#8217;s been decided to start the public viewing,&quot; Henke said.<\/p>\n<p>Baby is the first elephant calf to be born at the Melbourne Zoo and only the second to be born in an Australian zoo, <a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/unleashed\/2009\/11\/your-morning-adorable-asian-elephant-calf-goes-for-a-swim-at-australias-taronga-zoo.html\">the first being Luk Chai<\/a>, a male calf born at the Taronga Zoo last summer.
