{"id":305865,"date":"2010-02-10T16:50:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-10T21:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/activision-earnings-2010-2"},"modified":"2010-02-10T16:50:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-10T21:50:00","slug":"activision-beats-street-starts-buying-back-stock-atvi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/305865","title":{"rendered":"Activision Beats Street, Starts Buying Back Stock (ATVI)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"float_right\" src=\"http:\/\/static.businessinsider.com\/image\/4b7329000000000000b0171d-300-224\/activision-blizzard-ceo-bobby-kotick.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Activision-Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Activision-Blizzard (ATVI) announced earnings numbers that were significantly better than expected, but guidance is low.<\/p>\n<p>The company earned $0.49 per share on $2.5 billion in revenue on a non-GAAP basis, solidly above estimates of $0.44 per share on $2.23 billion in revenue.<\/p>\n<p>The company received a huge boost in the holiday season from the blockbuster &#8220;Call of Duty: Moder Warfare 2,&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/call-of-duty-is-still-killing-it-2009-11\">which took in over half a billion dollars in its first five days of sales<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Forecasts for this quarter fell short of expectations however.
