The Parents Television Council (PTC) wants some straight talk from FOX about whether or not they intend to put Stern on the judging panel.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Ellen-DeGeneres-American-Idol-Promo-Pictures-500x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Ellen DeGeneres American Idol Promo Pictures\" width=\"500\" height=\"576\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-87536\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thrfeed.com\/2010\/02\/ptc-stern-idol-rumor.html\">a statement<\/a> issued Wednesday morning, PTC President Tim Winter blasted the network for not putting the kibosh on the Stern rumors:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cGiven American Idol\u2019s extreme popularity with family audiences, I hope that Fox will put the rumors to rest and announce that it has no intention of adding to the show one of the most profane, sexually-explicit and anti-family performers in the history of the broadcast medium \u2013 either as a guest or as a judge.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Late last year, The PTC also took The CW to task over a threesome-themed episode that aired on the network&#8217;s teen drama <em>Gossip Girl<\/em> last fall.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/feedads.g.doubleclick.net\/~a\/iPlyOpU5KXDH1c9PlhBW2unge94\/0\/da\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feedads.g.doubleclick.net\/~a\/iPlyOpU5KXDH1c9PlhBW2unge94\/0\/di\" border=\"0\" ismap=\"true\"><\/img><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/feedads.g.doubleclick.net\/~a\/iPlyOpU5KXDH1c9PlhBW2unge94\/1\/da\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feedads.g.doubleclick.net\/~a\/iPlyOpU5KXDH1c9PlhBW2unge94\/1\/di\" border=\"0\" ismap=\"true\"><\/img><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kara and Ellen aren&#8217;t the only entertainment notables having a cow over rumors that American Idol producers are courting shock jock Howard Stern as a replacement for British mogul Simon Cowell.
