{"id":307428,"date":"2010-02-11T12:18:36","date_gmt":"2010-02-11T17:18:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chicagopressrelease.com\/?p=17813"},"modified":"2010-02-11T12:18:36","modified_gmt":"2010-02-11T17:18:36","slug":"record-number-of-illinois-students-take-ap-exams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/307428","title":{"rendered":"Record number of Illinois students take AP exams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-17818\" title=\"AP-exams-illinois\" src=\"http:\/\/chicagopressrelease.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/AP-exams-illinois-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/>SPRINGFIELD, Ill. &#8212; The Illinois State Board of Education says a record numbers of Illinois students took Advanced Placement exams last year.<\/p>\n<p>But the proportion of students who passed the college-level exams continues to decline.<\/p>\n<p>Data released this week shows about 65 percent of the 2009 graduates who took an AP exam scored a 3 or higher. <span id=\"more-17813\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Five years ago, 72 percent of students posted a passing grade.<\/p>\n<p>Scores range from 1 to 5 and a 3 is needed to earn college credit.<\/p>\n<p>Officials with the College Board says the decline in pass rates is due to more diverse populations taking the exams.
