{"id":307798,"date":"2010-02-11T14:33:39","date_gmt":"2010-02-11T19:33:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/?p=13266"},"modified":"2010-02-11T14:33:39","modified_gmt":"2010-02-11T19:33:39","slug":"skyfire-browser-coming-to-android","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/307798","title":{"rendered":"Skyfire Browser Coming to Android?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"KonaBody\">\n<p class=\"first-child \"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/steel_skyfire.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-13267\" title=\"steel_skyfire\" src=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/steel_skyfire-300x183.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a>Thanks to a recent acquisition, Android owners might be seeing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skyfire.com\/\" >Skyfire <\/a>web browser on their handset before too long.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kolbysoft.com\/\" >Kolbysoft<\/a>, the makers of the popular Steel browser, were<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mobilecrunch.com\/2010\/02\/11\/skyfire-for-android-kolbysoft-steel\/\" > just purchased by Skyfire<\/a> for an undisclosed sum.\u00a0 For those of you not in the know, Skyfire makes it possible to replicate a PC web browsing experience on your mobile device.\u00a0 Up until now, Skyfire was only available for Symbian and Windows Mobile.<span id=\"more-13266\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s being said that Kolbysoft was picked up because of their talent, which we presume means &#8220;ability to develop for Webkit&#8221;.\u00a0 As you may know, Android&#8217;s native browser uses Webkit as the backbone.\u00a0 Skyfire has relied on their own &#8220;Gecko&#8221; rendering engine to create the PC-like browsing experience.\u00a0 Blending the two of these, we should expect to see Skyfire arrive on Android before long.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3  class=\"related_post_title\">Might We Suggest&#8230;<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"related_post\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/08\/06\/android-version-of-opera-mobile-on-the-way\/\" title=\"Android Version of Opera Mobile on the Way\">Android Version of Opera Mobile on the Way<\/a><br \/><small>Browser alternative Opera Mobile has been well received by Windows Mobile and Symbian users for quite some time now.
