Southern California ski resorts are expecting a rush of visitors going into the holiday weekend, with mostly clear skies and plenty of snow making for near-perfect conditions.<\/p>\n
All roads were open Thursday except the Angeles Crest Highway, which was closed during recent storms and has not been reopened.<\/p>\n
Mt. Baldy ski resort received 1 1\/2 feet of snow Tuesday night,<\/a> when the roads were closed to cars and trucks without chains until the roads were cleared.<\/p>\n \u201cFive feet of snow, roads are clear and there\u2019s plenty of parking,\u201d said Mt. Baldy Manager Mendy Cox. \u201cWe\u2019ve got the best skiing I\u2019ve seen in 20 years.\u201d<\/p>\n She advised skiers and snowboarders to arrive early this weekend to avoid the rush.<\/p>\n Conditions were similar at Bear Mountain in Big Bear Lake, where Tuesday\u2019s storm dropped 8 to 10 inches of snow on top of the 5 feet already on the ground.
