(That&#8217;s right; this baby isn&#8217;t just <em>new<\/em>, it&#8217;s <em>brand spanking<\/em> new!) Of course, Jonna lost no time in cleaning the calf, who looks little but actually measures somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 feet tall.<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to a popular notion, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandiegozoo.org\/animalbytes\/t-giraffe.html\">giraffes have the same number of neck vertebrae<\/a> as humans do &#8212; seven, if you&#8217;re keeping score &#8212; but each giraffe vertebra can measure 10 inches long or more.
