Malaysian automaker Proton has released the first image of a new compact hybrid concept it will show off next month at the Geneva Motor Show<\/a>. At this point, we don’t have a name or any technical details, but the body was apparently designed by Italian studio Italdesign Giugiaro. <\/p>\n

Since Proton is the parent company of Lotus<\/a> and has often used the British firm to help with its engineering, it’s probably a safe bet that the concept will contain some Lotus-developed techno-bits. And since this is a small car likely targeted at a lower price point, it will likely be powered by some sort of mild hybrid developed by the crew in Hethel. We’ll know more soon enough.
