Computer Engineer carries a Barbie\u00ae smart phone, fashionable laptop case, flat watch and Bluetooth earpiece. With stylish pink-frame glasses and a shiny laptop, she is ready to conquer the day\u2019s tasks on the go or from her desk.<\/span><\/p>\n

The suggested range of projects struck me as a bit stereotypically feminine:<\/p>\n

\u201cGirls who discover their futures through Barbie will learn that they \u2013 just like engineers \u2013 are free to explore infinite possibilities, and that their dreams can go as far as their imaginations take them,\u201d said Nora Lin, President, Society of Women Engineers. \u201cAs a computer engineer, Barbie will show girls that women can design products that have an important and positive impact on people\u2019s everyday lives, such as inventing a technology to conserve home energy or programming a newborn monitoring device.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
