{"id":321366,"date":"2010-02-15T07:51:44","date_gmt":"2010-02-15T12:51:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/?p=93248"},"modified":"2010-02-15T07:51:44","modified_gmt":"2010-02-15T12:51:44","slug":"%e2%80%9c24%e2%80%b3-production-delayed-as-kiefer-sutherland-recovers-from-ruptured-cyst","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/321366","title":{"rendered":"\u201c24\u2033 Production Delayed As Kiefer Sutherland Recovers From Ruptured Cyst"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Production on the upcoming ninth season of <em>24<\/em> has been suspended after series star Kiefer Sutherland suffered a ruptured cyst near his kidney last week, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/showtracker\/2010\/02\/kiefer-sutherland-hospitalized.html\">The Los Angeles Times<\/a><\/em> reports.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/kiefer_sutherland_headbutts_designer-500x332.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"kiefer_sutherland_headbutts_designer\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-55078\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-93248\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Shooting on the hit drama began earlier this month, but filming had to be halted last week after Sutherland took time off to undergo minor surgery.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhile Kiefer Sutherland is frustrated to miss even one day of work, he and Fox decided together that it would be best to complete this minor elective procedure now as a precaution as opposed to six weeks from now when production wraps,<\/em>\u201d a rep for the star told the paper Sunday. <em>\u201cHe looks forward to returning to work next week.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued shortly after, 20th Century Fox &#8212; which produces <em>24<\/em> &#8212; ensured The Times that the delay in shooting wouldn\u2019t interfere with the show\u2019s schedule.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are temporarily suspending production of \u201824\u2019 while our friend and colleague Kiefer Sutherland undergoes a medical procedure.
