{"id":323772,"date":"2010-02-13T23:59:58","date_gmt":"2010-02-14T04:59:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.disinfo.com\/?p=22200"},"modified":"2010-02-13T23:59:58","modified_gmt":"2010-02-14T04:59:58","slug":"cyber-attacks-against-australia-%e2%80%98will-continue%e2%80%99","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/323772","title":{"rendered":"Cyber Attacks Against Australia \u2018Will Continue\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/technology\/8513073.stm\">BBC News<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>An activist group that temporarily blocked access to  key Australian government websites plans to continue its cyber attacks,  the BBC has learned.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The group, known as Anonymous, was  protesting against the Australian government&#8217;s proposals to apply  filters to the internet in the country.<\/p>\n<p>A man claiming to be a  representative of the group said that around 500 people were involved in  the attack.<\/p>\n<p>The method they are using is known as Distributed  Denial of Service (DDoS).<\/p>\n<p>DDoS is illegal in many  countries including the United Kingdom. There is no indication that the  attack was carried out from within Britain. DDoS attacks typically call  on machines in many different nations, making them hard to trace.<\/p>\n<p>The  sites were intermittently blocked on 10 and 11 February.
