Due to its unique chip-breaker design, which produces an excellent work piece finish and enables higher speeds and feeds, the R45-STF produces short chips, even in longer chipping materials.<\/p>\n<p>The high performance four flute geometry, with unequally indexed cutting edges, provides for superior tool stability and lower cutting forces, when combining TiAlN coating effectively.<\/p>\n<p>The 45\u00b0 chamfer of the outer corners in the cutting edges offers increased strength.<\/p>\n<p>A recent case study conducted, shows first hand the benefits of this unique tool design. A precision component manufacturer used a diameter 12mm to produce steering dampeners for motorbikes from lead bright steel, in a HAAS VF2 machining centre under dry conditions. At 5000 RPM (Vc = 188m\/min) &#038; 1000mm\/min feed-rate (f= 0.05mm\/tooth), taking a range of roughing &#038; finishing cuts with only one tool! The amount components achieved with other brands of endmills were 40 parts under these conditions.
