Green\u2019s arraignment was scheduled for March 17.<\/p>\n
Patti McNamara, 52, was found dead Thursday morning in her home on Gladys Avenue. She and her husband shared a house with Green, who fled the scene and jumped into the Fox River. Green received medical treatment for exposure and was charged with two counts of murder Thursday.<\/p>\n
An autopsy revealed McNamara\u2019s injuries were consistent with the hammer police recovered at the scene, officials said.<\/p>\n
The family issued a statement Sunday indicating Green had been struggling with mental illness for the past few years despite receiving treatment. Sugden said he had not yet received enough information on the case to elaborate on the mental illness or the allegations against his client.<\/p>\n
The family statement described McNamara as a beautiful friend and mother and asked for privacy as family and friends honored her life and memory. McNamara\u2019s funeral was scheduled for this morning.<\/p>\n
She is survived by three children, five stepchildren and three grandchildren.<\/p>\n
