{"id":327716,"date":"2010-02-16T16:51:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-16T21:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chicagopressrelease.com\/press-releases\/three-arrested-in-two-ton-cannabis-bust-in-douglas-county"},"modified":"2010-02-16T16:51:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-16T21:51:00","slug":"three-arrested-in-two-ton-cannabis-bust-in-douglas-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/327716","title":{"rendered":"Three arrested in two-ton cannabis bust in Douglas County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>\n\tTUSCOLA \u2014 A Moultrie County judge Tuesday ordered three California men held on $1 million bond each after their arrests Monday night in northern Douglas County for hauling more than two tons of cannabis from Texas.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDouglas County State\u2019s Attorney Kevin Nolan said preliminary information he received from Illinois State Police at Pesotum is that a trooper made a stop of a semi-trailer tractor truck on Interstate 57 northbound north of Tuscola about 8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cThere was a log book violation and a consent to search,\u201d Nolan said, adding that the district\u2019s drug-sniffing dog alerted and troopers found 4,400 pounds of cannabis tucked among crates of vegetables.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s a record for me,\u201d said Nolan, who has been in office six years and is no stranger to interstate drug busts. \u201cMy previous big ones have been about 200 pounds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNolan said the probable cause affidavit he received from troopers listed the amount as 1,999,995 grams of cannabis.
