{"id":330767,"date":"2010-02-17T11:08:35","date_gmt":"2010-02-17T16:08:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hydrogencarsnow.com\/blog2\/?p=1152"},"modified":"2010-02-17T11:08:35","modified_gmt":"2010-02-17T16:08:35","slug":"hydrogen-fuel-goes-mobile-for-london%e2%80%99s-2012-olympics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/330767","title":{"rendered":"Hydrogen Fuel Goes Mobile for London\u2019s 2012 Olympics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"London Fuel Cell Taxi\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hydrogencarsnow.com\/images\/blog\/london-fuel-cell-taxi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"267\" \/>Over the past few days I\u2019ve talked about the <a title=\"South Wales Hydrogen Highway\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hydrogencarsnow.com\/blog2\/index.php\/hydrogen-distribution\/south-wales-in-the-uk-to-have-hydrogen-highway-on-the-m4\/\" >South Wales Hydrogen Highway<\/a>, the <a title=\"Scottish Hydrogen Highway\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hydrogencarsnow.com\/blog2\/index.php\/hydrogen-distribution\/uks-new-hydrogen-highway-includes-donald-trumps-golf-course\/\" >Scottish Hydrogen Highway<\/a> and the <a title=\"ITM Power\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hydrogencarsnow.com\/blog2\/index.php\/hydrogen-distribution\/itm-power-readies-h2-fueling-stations-for-2012-summer-olympics-in-london\/\" >ITM Power<\/a> hydrogen fueling stations being built for the 2010 London Summer Olympics.<\/p>\n<p>About 10 months ago, I had also talked about how London\u2019s <a title=\"Mayor Boris Johnson\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hydrogencarsnow.com\/blog2\/index.php\/hydrogen-cars\/london-mayor-boris-johnson-reverses-position-on-hydrogen-cars\/\" >Mayor Boris Johnson<\/a> had reversed his decision in regard to introducing hydrogen cars to the streets of that city including fuel cell powered black cabs.<\/p>\n<p>Now, in addition to the ITM Power refueling stations, Air Products will now be dispensing <a title=\"hydrogen fuel\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hydrogencarsnow.com\/hydrogen-fuel.htm\" >hydrogen fuel<\/a> from mobile trailers. The Air Products mobile refueling units will be parked at local gas stations around London providing compressed H2 gas for the black taxis during the 2012 Olympics.<\/p>\n<p>I first saw one of the Air Products mobile hydrogen refueling trailers about 4 years ago at a <a title=\"National Hydrogen Association Conference and Expo\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hydrogenconference.org\/\" >National Hydrogen Association Conference and Expo<\/a> in Long Beach, which will be repeated this year May 3 \u2013 6, 2010. An anti-static cord is placed first upon the car\u2019s bumper or some other metal part and then the hydrogen is dispensed.<\/p>\n<p>The three companies that are developing the London fuel cell taxis are Intelligent Energy, Lotus, LTI (London Taxis International) and TRW Conekt. The <a title=\"expectation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eta.co.uk\/2010\/02\/11\/mobile-hydrogen-fuel-cell-black-cabs\" >expectation<\/a> is that there will be a measurable reduction of CO2 and particulate matter compared to taxis running on diesel fuel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past few days I\u2019ve talked about the South Wales Hydrogen Highway, the Scottish Hydrogen Highway and the ITM Power hydrogen fueling stations being built for the 2010 London Summer Olympics.
