{"id":331212,"date":"2010-02-17T11:17:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-17T16:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"e2249889-c78b-43e3-9643-b1d7d4aa587b:396984"},"modified":"2010-02-17T11:17:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-17T16:17:00","slug":"more-past-due-loans-could-mean-higher-provisioning-levels-at-td","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/331212","title":{"rendered":"More past due loans could mean higher provisioning levels at TD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Toronto Dominion Bank\u2019s US operation is facing a jump in \u201cpast due\u201d loans in the fourth quarter that could herald a rise in defaults in future quarters, says Brad Smith, an analyst at CI Capital Markets.<\/p>\n<p>Of the major domestic banks, TD has the biggest operation south of the border.<\/p>\n<p>Citing U.S. regulatory filings, Mr. Smith said in a note to clients that TD\u2019s U.S. banking group had a US$326-million or 48% increase in loans that were 30 to 90 days in arrears compared to the previous quarter.
