Too bad no matter what the IMF says, the move will no doubt drive the price of gold lower.<\/p>\n<p>Dow Jones (via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/article\/gold-tumbles-imf-reaffirms-plan-sell-1913-metric-tons-gold-over-time-phased-market-gold-sale\">Zerohedge<\/a>): <\/p>\n<p>The IMF noted that central banks in Europe have said they can accommodate the fund&#8217;s gold as part of their scheduled sales in the Central Bank Gold Agreement.<\/p>\n<p>The IMF board approved sales of 403.3 metric tons of gold in September to create a more stable income model and boost support for low-income countries.&nbsp; About 212 metric tons have already been sold off-market to central banks of India, Mauritius and Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n<p>The IMF didn&#8217;t rule out further off-market sales, which would reduce the amount sold to the market.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/static.businessinsider.com\/image\/4b7c65120000000000bd8f09\/kitco-feb-17.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"KITCO Feb 17\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/imf-resumes-massive-gold-sell-off-2010-2#comments\">Join the conversation about this story &#187;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>See Also:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/like-gold-then-you-better-like-investing-abroad-2010-2\">Like Gold?
