{"id":332710,"date":"2010-02-17T20:13:31","date_gmt":"2010-02-18T01:13:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chicagopressrelease.com\/press-releases\/noisy-test-well-drilling-to-last-all-night-in-roberts"},"modified":"2010-02-17T20:13:31","modified_gmt":"2010-02-18T01:13:31","slug":"%e2%80%98noisy%e2%80%99-test-well-drilling-to-last-all-night-in-roberts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/332710","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Noisy\u2019 test well drilling to last all night in Roberts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>\n\tROBERTS \u2014 Some residents might want to wear ear plugs to bed tonight.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRoberts Village Board President Rick Flessner said workers are drilling a \u201ctest well\u201d today on Locust Street and plan to \u201cdrill all night long.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s going to be noisy,\u201d Flessner said.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFlessner expects there will be unhappy residents, but said the work must be done as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe 4-inch test well is being drilled to determine if the water flow is sufficient before drilling a new 10-inch main well next week. The existing main well is temporarily out of service, after large holes in the well casing were discovered. In the meantime, the village is using a backup well and asking residents to limit their water usage.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAfter the test well is drilled, the workers from Western Well &#038; Pump Service will determine the flow rate and \u201cthe size of screen that they need at the bottom of the (main) well,\u201d Flessner said. That will take four or five days, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cThen, after they get an emergency permit from the EPA and if everything is sufficient and they get the pipe in and the screen, then they\u2019ll drill the 10-inch well,\u201d he said.
