Tom Vanderbilt's: Traffic: Why We Drive the Way We Do (and What It Says About Us)<\/em><\/a>, which looks at human behavior and how it affects traffic, safety, and all those accidents in parking lots. <\/p>\n

William Mitchell, Christopher Borroni-Bird, and Lawrence Burns' ("three brilliant supergeeks, two from GM\u2019s advanced auto division; one from MIT's Smart Cities program<\/a>"): Reinventing the Automobile: Personal Urban Mobility for the 21st Century<\/em><\/a>, which discusses the need to transform the DNA of the automobile and our automobile culture.<\/p>\n

While we disagree with Grist and think that the transportation genre is the most exciting in the world, we agree that you should check these out!<\/p>\n
