{"id":334891,"date":"2010-02-18T09:31:50","date_gmt":"2010-02-18T14:31:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chicagopressrelease.com\/?p=19872"},"modified":"2010-02-18T09:31:50","modified_gmt":"2010-02-18T14:31:50","slug":"uic-receives-grant-for-foster-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/334891","title":{"rendered":"UIC receives grant for foster kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CHICAGO &#8212; Mental health services for foster kids could get a boost thanks to research at the University of Illinois at Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>UIC social work researchers have received a nearly $1 million grant from the National Institute of Mental Health.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s part of the government&#8217;s stimulus money. <span id=\"more-19872\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The funds will be used to analyze ways for social workers to address behavior problems in child-welfare settings.<\/p>\n<p>UIC researcher Sonya Leathers says effective treatments for behavior problems aren&#8217;t widely used some settings.
