\"\"President Obama’s plan to turn Thomson state prison into \u201cGitmo North\u201d might hit a new snag, this time in Springfield.<\/p>\n

The State House has passed a measure that would require the General Assembly to sign-off on the sale of any state asset valued at more than $1 million, which would apply to Thomson.<\/p>\n

The bill now moves to the State Senate for consideration and would require Governor Quinn\u2019s signature for passage. <\/span><\/p>\n

The U.S. Congress is also working to block the move of hundreds of terror detainees from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to Illinois.<\/p>\n
