Lighting\u00a0is an area of innovation. &#8220;Dr. Mariana Figueiro, the program director of the Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, thinks the way we design spaces and the impact those spaces have on us will change dramatically\u2014and soon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In comments to <em>Metropolis<\/em>,\u00a0Dr. Figueiro\u00a0said:\u00a0&#8221;Professional lighting designers are starting to be attuned to the health effects of light.
