\nFast Company<\/em> writes that Creatmosphere<\/a>, a\u00a0British lighting design firm,\u00a0has turned Brighton, England’s 1,000-foot long pier into a light art installation called “A Pier\/Appears.” In 2003, the pier was burnt “to a crisp in a series of fires.” There have been numerous plans to rebuild the pier, but none have been realized due to the enormous costs involved.\u00a0In a more low-cost solution, Creatmosphere\u00a0outlined the\u00a01866 building’s original form\u00a0using neon-green, high-power lasers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While illuminated buildings have had a long history, lighting designers\u00a0are now\u00a0taking building lighting design in new directions. Buildings that incorporate light design into their facades are gaining in popularity, writes Fast Company.<\/p>\n

In comments to Metropolis<\/em>,\u00a0Dr. Figueiro\u00a0said:\u00a0”Professional lighting designers are starting to be attuned to the health effects of light.
