{"id":338929,"date":"2010-02-19T07:59:12","date_gmt":"2010-02-19T12:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/greenenergyreporter.com\/?p=6436"},"modified":"2010-02-19T07:59:12","modified_gmt":"2010-02-19T12:59:12","slug":"bill-gross%e2%80%99s-esolar-teams-up-with-germany%e2%80%99s-ferrostaal-to-develop-consentrated-solar-power-plants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/338929","title":{"rendered":"Bill Gross\u2019s eSolar Teams Up With Germany\u2019s Ferrostaal to Develop Consentrated Solar Power Plants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenenergyreporter.com\/wp-content\/themes\/v1\/img\/cat\/funding.png\" width=\"8\" height=\"8\" alt=\"\" title=\"Funding\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenenergyreporter.com\/wp-content\/themes\/v1\/img\/cat\/solar.png\" width=\"8\" height=\"8\" alt=\"\" title=\"Solar\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/greenenergyreporter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/16917v1-max-250x250.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6038\" title=\"eSolar \" src=\"http:\/\/greenenergyreporter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/16917v1-max-250x250.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"182\" height=\"71\" \/><\/a>eSolar,\u00a0a developer of concentrated solar thermal power technology, and Germany\u2019s\u00a0Ferrostaal are planning to jointly develop CSP power plants\u00a0across the global sunbelt, including Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and South Africa.<span id=\"more-6436\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Under the terms of the deal eSolar will provide solar field and receiver technology and Ferrostaal will provide the power block as well as project management and manage project financing.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time eSolar forms a strategic partnership with an outside company. <a href=\"http:\/\/greenenergyreporter.com\/2009\/02\/coal-fired-utility-signs-utility-scale-500-mw-solar-deal\/\" >Last year it inked a deal<\/a> with NRG Energy, which is\u00a0 investing $10 million in for the right to use eSolar&#8217;s technology to develop and operate three solar power projects that combined are set to generate 500 megawatts of electricity.<\/p>\n<p>In this challenging funding market a number of eSolar&#8217;s competitors, also backed by promising technologies but with thin balance sheets, are forging partnerships of their own, even selling themselves outright to bigger companies. That&#8217;s what solar thermal power developer <a href=\"http:\/\/greenenergyreporter.com\/2010\/02\/nuclear-power-house-areva-acquires-ausra-more-to-come\/\" >Ausra did last week <\/a>when French nuclear reactor maker Areva acquired it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.esolar.com\/news\/press\/2010_02_18\" >In a prepared statement<\/a> released yesterday eSolar&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/greenenergyreporter.com\/2009\/12\/esolar-names-new-ceo\/\" >newly appointed<\/a> CEO John Van Scoter said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This partnership with Ferrostaal is a real coup for eSolar!
