{"id":340584,"date":"2010-02-19T08:22:41","date_gmt":"2010-02-19T13:22:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/notsalmon.com\/?p=238"},"modified":"2010-02-19T08:22:41","modified_gmt":"2010-02-19T13:22:41","slug":"happiness-tip-how-to-recover-your-happiness-after-life-knocks-you-over","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/340584","title":{"rendered":"HAPPINESS TIP:  How to Recover Your Happiness after Life Knocks You Over !"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/rsd.gsfc.nasa.gov\/goes\/images\/tornado_warning.gif\" alt=\"tornado\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Feeling challenged, stressed, depressed, miffed, pissed off, pissed on &#8212; and as if you &#8211; and you alone &#8212; are being singled out by the fates to suffer?<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Stop thinking about what&#8217;s <strong>wrong<\/strong> in your life, and starting thinking about how to create <strong>more right<\/strong> in your life! <em>You can do it! <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Thankfully, there\u00a0are certain proven tools which will empower you to get back on track after adversity strikes.<span> In my book,<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Bounce-Back-Book-Adversity-Setbacks\/dp\/076114627X\/ref=pd_cp_b_1\"> <strong>THE BOUNCE BACK BOOK (click here for more about my Anthony Robbins + Deepak Chopra loved book)<\/strong><\/a><span> I offer many tips for thriving in the face of adversity. Here are some CLIFF NOTES to keep you from leaping off that cliff into hopelessness, dammit!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>1. <\/strong><span><em><strong>Feeling means you\u2019re dealing means your healing.<\/strong><\/em><em> <\/em><\/span>Confront, tolerate and feel your pain. If you can do this, the pain will eventually get smaller and ultimately disappear.<span> <\/span>But d<span>on\u2019t push yourself to move on too quickly&#8211;you have to nurture your wounds appropriately. If you don\u2019t like to express your suffering verbally, keep a journal. Dig deep into your feelings by writing them out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>2. <\/span><strong><em>Turn off the tube<\/em><\/strong><em>.<\/em><span> Watching TV produces low levels of satisfaction because it doesn\u2019t challenge you. <\/span><span>Instead, do something that raises your self-esteem. Tap into your \u2018signature strengths\u2019\u2014things you\u2019re good at or passionate about.<span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong><em>3. Step outside yourself<\/em><\/strong><span>. Volunteering is a great way to look outside your own problems.<span> <\/span>Giving back to makes you happier by both giving you a sense of purpose and helping to put your problems in perspective.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong><em>4. Get a \u2018mental rental.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><span> Sit in a quiet place and consciously think about optimistic future goals or happy memories. Make a list of five great moments from your past and five future events you\u2019re psyched about. Envision as much detail as you can. What are you wearing? How are you standing? What scent is in the air? By tapping into positive thoughts, you can actually change your body chemistry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong><em>5. Keep perspective<\/em><\/strong><span>. The hard time <\/span>you may be experiencing is merely a &#8217;slice&#8217; of your life, not your whole life. Think about y<span>our future &#8212; and realize that you don\u2019t want your life to be defined by this one circumstance.<span> <\/span>Keep a gratitude journal to remind yourself of everything you do have in your life &#8211; rather than what\u2019s missing. You may even \u2018bounce back\u2019 <em>higher<\/em><\/span><span> because you\u2019ll learn to appreciate other important things in your life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><em>6. <\/em><strong><em>Change your mood with food<\/em><\/strong><span>.<span> <\/span>D<\/span>uring difficult times, it\u2019s best to cut down on sweets like cookies, cake and candy. Satisfy your sweet tooth with fruit to help prevent blood sugar dips and spikes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">7. <span><span> <\/span><strong>Let go.\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">When you feel stuck in a hard time, jump-start a pro-change attitude by letting go of possessions that no longer work for you &#8212; like old clothes and old shoes. When you get rid of physical things that that &#8216;weigh you down,&#8217; and start to feel lighter &#8212; you&#8217;ll witness how by letting go, you&#8217;re making room for new things to enter your home\/life.
