Five Republicans crossed the aisle to vote for the bill, while Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) was the only Democrat to vote against it.<\/p>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com\/2010\/02\/22\/with-g-o-p-help-senate-advances-jobs-bill\/\">The New York Times<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts, the newly elected Republican, was  the first to join Democrats in backing the measure.
