{"id":350985,"date":"2010-02-22T19:22:58","date_gmt":"2010-02-23T00:22:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/liveshots.blogs.foxnews.com\/?p=12379"},"modified":"2010-02-22T19:22:58","modified_gmt":"2010-02-23T00:22:58","slug":"gop-governors-say-obama-%e2%80%9cnot-negotiating%e2%80%9d","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/350985","title":{"rendered":"GOP Governors Say Obama \u201cNot Negotiating\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From the NGA Winter Meeting in Washington-<\/p>\n<p>Republican governors returning from meetings at the White House told us President Obama isn&#8217;t negotiating, but rather just trying to cajole them.<\/p>\n<p>Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour (R) told us, &#8220;It felt like he wants us to come his way without making any concessions of his own.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels (R) said it was a very cordial meeting but, &#8220;The first rule when you&#8217;re in a dead end is to stop, backup and find a better way, and I think we have to do that in American health care.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One other Republican governor complained, &#8220;Just because we don&#8217;t agree with his ideas doesn&#8217;t make us partisan.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Many of the governors say there are a few points of agreement and that&#8217;s where the negotiations should be centered.<\/p>\n<p>White House officials point to an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/health-care-meeting\/republican-ideas\">online list<\/a> of Republican initiatives included in the president&#8217;s health care proposal, including:<\/p>\n<p>Comprehensive Sanctions Database.<\/p>\n<p>Registration and Background Checks of Billing Agencies and Individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Expanded Access to the Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data Bank.<\/p>\n<p>Liability of Medicare Administrative Contractors for Claims Submitted by Excluded Providers.<\/p>\n<p>Community Mental Health Centers.<\/p>\n<p>Limiting Debt Discharge in Bankruptcies of Fraudulent Health Care Providers or Suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>Use of Technology for Real-Time Data Review.<\/p>\n<p>Illegal Distribution of a Medicare or Medicaid Beneficiary Identification or Billing Privileges.<\/p>\n<p>Study of Universal Product Numbers Claims Forms for Selected Items and Services Under the Medicare Program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the NGA Winter Meeting in Washington- Republican governors returning from meetings at the White House told us President Obama isn&#8217;t negotiating, but rather just trying to cajole them.
