Mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses that promise near-DSLR quality without DSLR bulk are verifiably exploding. After the now-established <a href=\"http:\/\/gizmodo.com\/tag\/pst\/microfourthirds\">Micro Four Thirds format<\/a> from Panasonic and Olympus, Samsung jumped in with its <a href=\"http:\/\/gizmodo.com\/5162590\/samsung-nx-series-cameras-have-compact-bodies-dslr-hearts\">Hybrid NX camera<\/a>. Yesterday, Sony <a href=\"http:\/\/gizmodo.com\/5476666\/sonys-gorgeous-alpha-micro-four-thirds-fighter-sadly-just-a-concept-for-now\">revealed its own spin<\/a>, the Alpha concept. <\/p>\n<p>And now, there&#8217;s Sigma, known for its <a href=\"http:\/\/gizmodo.com\/5275208\/sigma-dp2-camera-review-its-complicated\">prickly but highly capable compacts<\/a> powered by its oversized Foveon image sensors, is going to make their own system with Foveon. More interesting, maybe, is that they&#8217;re thinking about making lenses for the other guys too. Oh well, who <em>really<\/em> wants simplicity?
