A Saab, sigla de Svenka Aeroplan Aktie Bolaget, nasceu em 1937, como ind\u00fastria aeron\u00e1utica. A mudan\u00e7a ocorreu no p\u00f3s-guerra e, em 1947, a f\u00e1brica escandinava come\u00e7ou a ocupar-se de autom\u00f3veis produzidos na planta de Trollh\u00e4ttan. O primeiro carro da Saab \u00e9 o prot\u00f3tipo de um utilit\u00e1rio chamado \u201cUrSaab\u201d apresentado ainda em 47. <\/p>\n<p>O ve\u00edculo tem uma carroceria bem aerodin\u00e2mica, de cor verde, projetada pelos mesmos engenheiros que conceberam os avi\u00f5es. A UrSaab se distingue pelas solu\u00e7\u00f5es t\u00e9cnicas adotadas, destacando-se a tra\u00e7\u00e3o dianteira e o motor bicil\u00edndrico de dois tempos de origem DKW, posicionado no eixo dianteiro, 764 de cilindrada, capaz de distribuir uma pot\u00eancia de 25 CV. Da UrSaab surgiu a Saab 92, ve\u00edculo de s\u00e9rie que debuta no mercado em 49. Foi escolhido o n\u00famero 92 porque desde 90 em diante assim foram identificados os avi\u00f5es do tipo civil.<\/p>\n<p>Em 1950, o utilit\u00e1rio sueco participou do Rally de Montecarlo, inaugurando a uni\u00e3o entre a Saab e esse esporte. Em 52 chegam as primeiras atualiza\u00e7\u00f5es est\u00e9ticas para o 92, enquanto que dois anos mais tarde foi lan\u00e7ada a 92B. Um ano importante para a Saab foi 1954, quando a produ\u00e7\u00e3o superou as 10.000 unidades, ao mesmo tempo que em Goteborg foi inaugurada a planta onde foram projetados e produzidos motores e c\u00e2mbios. No mesmo ano come\u00e7am as exporta\u00e7\u00f5es para os EUA que, em breve tempo, far\u00e1 o mercado internacional tornar-se mais importante. Al\u00e9m, foi produzido tamb\u00e9m o Saab 94, conhecido como Sonett I, somente em 6 exemplares. Tratase de um spider de 2 lugares com carroceria em resina de vidro, com motor 750 de 57 CV. No ano seguinte chegam o 93F e o 95. Esse \u00faltimo \u00e9 a varia\u00e7\u00e3o station wagon do 93, caracterizado por um interior vers\u00e1til de 7 lugares. Em 60, chega o Saab 96, dispon\u00edvel tamb\u00e9m na vers\u00e3o esportiva 750 GT. Nesse per\u00edodo o 750 GT foi substitu\u00eddo pelo 850 Sport de 52 CV e equipado com freios a disco dianteiros. O modelo venceu as edi\u00e7\u00f5es 1962 e 1963 do Rally de Montecarlo com o piloto Erik Carlsson, j\u00e1 piloto de provas oficial da Saab. Um ano depois, o Saab 96 cede seu lugar ao 99 com 2 portas e 5 lugares, motor propulsor 1.7 de quatro cilindros de origem <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carangoblog.pop.com.br\/cerca\/triumph\">Triumph<\/a> de 85 CV e dotada de quatro freios a disco. Al\u00e9m disso, chega o Sonett III com motor 1.5 de origem <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carangoblog.pop.com.br\/categoria\/ford\">Ford<\/a>. Dois anos mais tarde \u00e9 lan\u00e7ado o 99 EMS, equipado com propulsore 2.0 com inje\u00e7\u00e3o, desenvolvido pela f\u00e1brica de Trollh\u00e4ttan, que desde 73 foi estendido a todos os modelos Saab. Em 1974, o Sonett sai de cena, depois da fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o de10.219 unidades entre as s\u00e9ries II e III. . Em 1978, nasce o Saab 900, o carro que se tornar\u00e1 a bandeira mais representativa do brand escandinavo. Al\u00e9m disso, em 1984 chega o <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carangoblog.pop.com.br\/cerca\/saab%209000\">Saab 9000<\/a>, modelo com cinco portas de segmento E, fabricada em joint-venture com a Lingotto que a partir desse projeto deu origem ao <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carangoblog.pop.com.br\/cerca\/fiat%20croma\">Fiat Croma<\/a>, ao <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carangoblog.pop.com.br\/cerca\/lancia%20thema\">Lancia Thema <\/a>e ao Alfa Romeo 164. Tamb\u00e9m nesse caso, a f\u00e1brica de Trollh\u00e4ttan revoluciona o segmento introduzindo a capota de tela multicamada, \u00fatil para a utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o do ve\u00edculo tamb\u00e9m no inverno. Em 1988, foi lan\u00e7ado o modelo 9000 CD, varia\u00e7\u00e3o quatro portas da Saab 9000, apelidada \u201cThema sueca\u201d.
