The trip is organized by George Athanassakos, Professor of Finance, who heads the Ben Graham Centre for Value Investing at Ivey. It is named after Ben Graham, Buffett\u2019s mentor and teacher at Columbia University.<\/div>\n<div> <\/div>\n<div>The itinerary for the Friday, Feb. 26 trip includes a tour of Nebraska Furniture Mart, one of Buffett\u2019s companies, and a question-and-answer session and luncheon with Buffett, who is known as one of the world\u2019s best investors and nicknamed the \u201cOracle of Omaha.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cThis is a once in a lifetime opportunity,\u201d says Athanassakos. \u201cIt\u2019s a chance to interact with a financial genius and learn from him.\u201d<\/div>\n<div> <\/div>\n<div>The concept of value investing, which involves buying stocks at a discount to their intrinsic value, was introduced in 1934 by Ben Graham and David Dodd in their book, Security Analysis.<\/div>\n<div> <\/div>\n<div>Buffett was a student of Ben Graham at Columbia University and went on to become a value investing guru. His company has averaged a 25-per cent annual return to its shareholders while employing large amounts of capital and minimal debt.
