We did cover Dropbox though, and the two services are somewhat similar. The biggest difference, right now, is that SugarSync has a BlackBerry application. It’s a cloud storage service that syncs your account between your computer and your mobile device. You can upload files from either source and then edit and view them from anywhere. Their newest feature caught my eye. It allows you to easily upload email file attachments, so that you can view them from anywhere. All you have to do is send an email.

Within your SugarSync account you can go to settings and enable the Upload by Email feature. You are then assigned an email address of random characters. When you send emails to this address, SugarSync automatically uploads the files to the cloud. This is ideal for use on your BlackBerry. I receive file attachments all the time that I either can’t view on my BlackBerry, or otherwise want to check out later. Uploading these files to the cloud means that I can get to them later.

This is an excellent addition to SugarSync’s already useful service. The ability to store documents, photos, and other media in a remote location can be key for BlackBerry users. It means we can access files from anywhere, whether on our BlackBerry devices or on our computers. I wouldn’t store everything in the cloud, but for frequently used documents and media it seems like a nearly indispensable tool.

To download the SugarSync BlackBerry app, head to m.sugarsync.com from your BlackBerry browser.

With a hat tip to BBRocks.

This post originated at BBGeeks.com – home to all things Blackberry!
