The state has plans to put a veterans memorial that will honor all Connecticut veterans on a grassy meadow adjacent to the Col. Raymond F. Gates State Veterans Cemetery.<\/p>\n
The cemetery is located across from the State Veterans Home on West Street in Rocky Hill. <\/p>\n
The state hopes to break ground on the project this spring or summer and intends to hold a dedication ceremony by the end of the year. <\/p>\n
To make the memorial a reality, Gov. M. Jodi Rell is holding a design competition. The competition will be open to all residents, artists, architects, landscape architects and resident and non-resident college students.
