{"id":366908,"date":"2010-02-26T16:08:09","date_gmt":"2010-02-26T21:08:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chicagopressrelease.com\/?p=21336"},"modified":"2010-02-26T16:08:09","modified_gmt":"2010-02-26T21:08:09","slug":"chicago-opera-theater-announces-a-fee-free-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/366908","title":{"rendered":"Chicago Opera Theater announces a fee-free weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CHICAGO, IL &#8212; Chicago Opera Theater (COT) will be waiving all ticket fees when tickets to their<strong> 2010 Spring Festival Season go on sale to the general public on <strong>Feb. 26 online only<\/strong> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagooperatheater.org\/tickets\/calendar.aspx\" rel='nofollow' rel='nofollow'><strong>ChicagoOperaTheater.org<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tickets go on sale by phone and in person on<strong> Monday, March 1st <\/strong>from 9am-5pm at 312-704-8414 or at 70 East Lake Street, Suite 815.\u00a0 Purchasing \u201cfee-free\u201d tickets will end Monday, March 1 at 11:59pm.<\/p>\n<p>General Director Brian Dickie announced Chicago Opera Theater\u2019s 2010 Spring Festival Season in March of 2009. <span id=\"more-21336\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The season opens with the 2008 People\u2019s Opera winner and a rare serious Rossini opera: <strong><em>Moses in Egypt<\/em> (<em>Mos\u00e8 in Egitto)<\/em><\/strong>; next is the anchor of the City of Chicago&#8217;s Early Music Festival and the hilarious comedy Francesco Cavalli&#8217;s <strong><em>Jason (Giasone)<\/em><\/strong>; and the season closes with Jake Heggie&#8217;s <strong><em>Three Decembers<\/em><\/strong>, featuring <strong>Frederica von Stade<\/strong> in her final opera performances in Chicago before retirement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chicago Opera Theater also presents a one-night-only concert with Frederica von Stade and Jake Heggie on May 10, 2010. <\/strong>Accompanied by Mr. Heggie, Ms. Von Stade will sing a program of Heggie&#8217;s own works, as well as Broadway and opera favorites.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2010 Spring Festival Season runs April 17 through May 16 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Moses in Egypt<\/em> Production Sponsors:\u00a0\u00a0The Elizabeth F.
