{"id":367062,"date":"2010-02-26T16:21:22","date_gmt":"2010-02-26T21:21:22","guid":{"rendered":"tag:typepad.com,2003:post-6a00d8341c5fcf53ef0120a8d976c2970b"},"modified":"2010-02-26T16:21:22","modified_gmt":"2010-02-26T21:21:22","slug":"suspect-sought-in-murder-of-south-los-angeles-resident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/367062","title":{"rendered":"Suspect Sought in Murder of South Los Angeles Resident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong class=\"bodytextLARGE\"><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">Los Angeles:<\/span>\u00a0 The Los Angeles Police Department<br \/>\nSoutheast Squad, Criminal Gang\/Homicide Division detectives are asking<br \/>\nfor the public\u2019s help in identifying the suspect(s) who participated in<br \/>\nan early morning shooting in South Los Angeles. <\/p>\n<p>\nAround 2:15 a.m., this morning LAPD Southeast Area officers responded to<br \/>\n a radio call of shots fired at 93rd Street and Avalon Boulevard.\u00a0<br \/>\nOfficers discovered the victim, 34-year-old Johnny Thomas, deceased on<br \/>\nthe sidewalk. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nAccording to detectives, an argument immediately preceded the shooting.\u00a0<br \/>\n The suspect(s) then left in an unknown direction and have not yet been<br \/>\nidentified.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nThomas was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.\u00a0 There<br \/>\n are no known witnesses to this shooting or any suspect descriptions.<\/p>\n<p>\nDetectives are also investigating a hit-and-run traffic accident that<br \/>\noccurred at 103rd Street and Broadway.\u00a0 The accident apparently occurred<br \/>\n shortly after the shooting incident, but is currently unknown whether<br \/>\nthe two incidents are related.<\/p>\n<p>\nAnyone with information is asked to call Criminal Gang\/Homicide<br \/>\nDivision, Detective Sal LaBarbera, at 213-485-4341.\u00a0 During non-business<br \/>\n hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\nAnyone wishing to remain anonymous should call\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Crimestoppers at<br \/>\n1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).\u00a0 Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers<br \/>\nby texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a<br \/>\ncell phone.
