CHICAGO (STMW) — <\/strong>A Far South Side was ordered held on $25,000 bond Thursday after police allegedly found cannabis plants, loaded handguns and more than $11,000 in cash inside a home across the street from a grammar school.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ralph Lawson, 26, of the 9300 block of South Wallace Street was charged with one count each of felony cannabis manufacturing\/delivery within 1,000 feet of a school, felony production of cannabis and production of drug paraphernalia, as well as five counts each of unlawful use of a weapon and failure to register a firearm, according to police.<\/p>\n

Lawson appeared for a bond hearing Thursday and was ordered held on $25,000 bond, Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokesman Andy Conklin said. He will appear for a preliminary hearing on March 16. <\/p>\n

On Wednesday about 8 p.m., Gresham District tactical officers conducted a search warrant at Lawson’s home and found 12 cannabis plants, five loaded handguns and the cash, the release said.<\/p>\n

Officers arrested him and also seized drug paraphernalia, cannabis plants and seeds valued at $600.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The arrest took place across the street from a grammar school in the Washington Heights community.<\/p>\n
