The officers were fired upon, but no one was hit. <\/p>\n<p>\nThe man refused to come outside, and a SWAT team was called to the scene, Rayner said. \u201cThey\u2019re negotiating with him and seeking a peaceful resolution at this time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe woman was transported to a hospital in serious condition. No other information was given.<\/p>\n<p>[<strong>Updated at 11:33 a.m.: <\/strong>The apartment complex and surrounding<br \/>\narea have been evacuated, and 15 displaced residents opted to go to<br \/>\nBirmingham Senior High School in Van Nuys, where a shelter has been set<br \/>\nup, Rayner said. <\/p>\n<p>The gunman has continued to speak with a SWAT team<br \/>\nnegotiator. No shots from officers have been fired.
