Taylor Lautner has reportedly pulled out of a chance to play crimefighter Max Steel to devote himself to the upcoming Stretch Armstrong<\/em> movie. <\/p>\n The Twilight<\/em> hunk — rumored to be the highest-paid teen star in Hollywood — had signed up for both action roles but has now opted out of Max Steel<\/em>, about a sports star-turned-secret agent, to focus on Stretch<\/em>, new blockbuster based on the bendable action figure produced by toymakers Hasbro in the 1970s.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n According to New York Magazine, Lautner ditched the part because toy manufacturer Mattel — which produces Max Steel<\/em> figures — has not been as successful at the box offices as Hasbro — who, in addition to Steel,<\/em> also spearheaded the Transformers<\/em> and G.I. Joe<\/em> film franchises.<\/p>\n “(In) the weeks after signing on to play Steel, Lautner became increasingly convinced that Hasbro was playing its hand better than Mattel.
