It was 68 years ago this month- In the dark morning hours of February 25, 1942, less than three months after Pearl Harbor, a million people in Southern California witnessed first hand, the “Battle of Los Angeles”.<\/p>\n

This was not a drill, nor a practice for war.  A very large unknown aerial object appeared over Los Angeles.  At the time, it was feared that the Japanese were bringing the war to our western shores.<\/p>\n

The next morning, the Los Angeles Examiner’s headlines read: \u201cAir Battle Rages over Los Angeles,\u201d followed (in smaller type) by \u201cOne Plane Reported Downed on Vermont Avenue by Gunfire\u201d.<\/p>\n
