As if Toyota owners did not have enough to be concerned about, 933,800 Camry, Avalon, Rav4, and Lexus vehicles equipped with V6 engines have been targeted for repair by ToMoCo. The affected vehicles have a defect in the oil hose whereby the rubber portion thereof could potentially develop a hole and cause leakage to the point of engine failure.<\/p>\n
Toyota had sent a letter out to dealers regarding the issue, stating that the company will be replacing the defective hoses. A spokesperson was very careful to make it known that the oil hose issue is not a safety one, and therefor a recall will not be issued.<\/p>\n
The limited service campaign laid out for the dealers covers \u201907-\u201910 Camrys, \u201905-\u201909 Avalons, \u201906-\u201909 Rav4s, \u201907-\u201909 Lexus ES 350s and \u201907-\u201909 Lexus RX 350s. The campaign, which will run until March 31, 2013, will allow owners to get their oil hosed replaced at Toyota dealerships at no cost.<\/p>\n
