Simpson was wearing the day of his acquittal in the criminal trial in the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.<\/p>\n<p>Fred Goldman, Ron&#8217;s father, filed the lawsuit against<br \/>\nSimpson and his former agent, Mike Gilbert, who allegedly has possession<br \/>\n of the suit. <\/p>\n<p>In 1997, a civil jury found Simpson liable for the two deaths and ordered him to pay $33.5 million to the<br \/>\nvictims\u2019 relatives. Fred Goldman is still trying to collect the money.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The settlement could mean the suit goes to Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to the Associated Press, Gilbert and Goldman have agreed to donate the suit to the Smithsonian Institution.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not entirely clear whether the museum wants the suit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a mandatory settlement to attempt to resolve who owns the<br \/>\nsuit and who has the right to the suit,\u201d Ronald Slates, Simpson&#8217;s<br \/>\nlawyer, told The Times on Monday morning.
