But we&#8217;re looking at a Swedish car. In Switzerland. So what does this have to do with Detroit? Well, a lot. But not for long. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/make\/volvo\">Volvo<\/a>&#8216;s about to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2009\/12\/23\/breaking-ford-says-it-has-come-to-terms-with-geely-on-volvo-sal\/\">change hands from Ford to China&#8217;s Geely<\/a>, and (like fellow Swedish automaker <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/make\/saab\">Saab<\/a> now under <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/spyker\">Spyker<\/a>&#8216;s wing) if it&#8217;s going to survive, it&#8217;ll need a solid product. This could be it.<\/p>\n<p>Previewed in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2009\/01\/11\/detroit-2009-volvo-s60-debuts-sexy-scandinavian-design\/\">concept form at the Detroit Auto Show<\/a>, the production version of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2010\/02\/09\/geneva-preview-2011-volvo-s60\/\">the new Volvo S60<\/a> made its debut here at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/geneva-motor-show\/\">Geneva Motor Show<\/a>. A few details inevitably had to change on the bumpy road from concept to production, among them the anteater nose of the show car which was thankfully reshaped due to pedestrian impact requirements. And when it comes down to it, that&#8217;s what Volvo&#8217;s all about: safety. So it comes as little surprise that the new S60 also debuts the company&#8217;s new Collision Warning system that will, if necessary, fully engage the brakes. <\/p>\n<p>The S60 makes its debut in T6 guise, packing a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six with 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.
