Governor Edward Rendell cited TRF\u2019s track record of investing in green and sustainable energy as key elements in the selection process.<\/p>\n<p>Federal guidelines require any potential manager to contribute at least $18 million to the fund. TRF doubled that commitment.<\/p>\n<p>The $48 million total investment is projected to support 500 jobs on projects designed to reduce energy consumption by nearly 800 billion <a href=\"http:\/\/www.energyvortex.com\/energydictionary\/british_thermal_unit_%28btu%29__mbtu__mmbtu.html\" >British Thermal Units<\/a> &#8212; enough to power more than 23,000 average homes in Pennsylvania for one year.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the new commitment, TRF has financed more than 2,526 projects in the Mid-Atlantic region, delivering $939 million.
