Jim Bunning&#8217;s (R-Ky.) decision to stall unemployment legislation. It didn&#8217;t help the GOP that Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), the minority leader, dodged every question thrown at him.<\/p>\n<p>Asked, for example, if Bunning is &#8220;speaking for the Republicans,&#8221; McConnell declined to answer the question, responding instead that &#8220;we&#8217;re working on this issue and hope to have it sorted out in a way that will be satisfactory to all concerned in the very near future.&#8221;<span id=\"more-78113\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Pressed for more specifics, McConnell only repeated that &#8220;we&#8217;re working on this, and we believe we can reach a consent agreement &#8230; hopefully in the near future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the minority leader gave up.\u00a0&#8221;Are there any questions,&#8221; he asked, &#8220;on any other subject?&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was inevitable: Senate Republicans were dying to talk about health care reform today, but all reporters wanted to discuss was Sen.
