And today, five months later, the same company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epson.co.jp\/e\/newsroom\/2009\/news_20091109.htm\">announced<\/a> [press release in English] what it claims is the world&#8217;s first 4K-compatible HTPS (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.epson.jp\/e\/products\/device\/htps\/\">high-temperature polysilicon<\/a>) TFT LCD panel for 3LCD projectors.<\/p>\n<p>The new panel is sized at 1.64 inches diagonally and boasts a resolution of 4,096&#215;2,160, which is nothing less than four times the resolution of a full HD screen. The simple diagram below visualizes the difference between 4K and full HD resolutions.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-123023\" title=\"epson_4k_lcd_2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crunchgear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/epson_4k_lcd_2.jpg\" alt=\"epson_4k_lcd_2\" width=\"280\" height=\"170\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What this means is that we get high-performance panels for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.3lcd.com\/Default.aspx?ct=633802948706086773&amp;strt=t&amp;gd=aa883ab9-7b7f-4225-8a0f-f64bef1230bc\">3LCD<\/a> projectors, which use chips in every projector.
