{"id":385290,"date":"2010-03-03T15:38:55","date_gmt":"2010-03-03T20:38:55","guid":{"rendered":"tag:consumerist.com,2010:\/\/1.10002820"},"modified":"2010-03-03T16:27:24","modified_gmt":"2010-03-03T21:27:24","slug":"continental-realizes-exit-row-seats-have-more-legroom-charges-more-for-them","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/385290","title":{"rendered":"Continental Realizes Exit Row Seats Have More Legroom, Charges More For Them"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/consumerist.com\/assets_c\/2010\/03\/legroomm-thumb-375x500-37724.jpg\">         <\/p>\n<p>In an announcement this morning, Continental Airlines said that, starting March 17, they will be offering passengers &#8220;a new option allowing you to purchase seat assignments for unreserved, Economy Class seats that feature extra legroom.&#8221; But instead of readjusting the seats on their planes to allow for more space, they&#8217;re really just charging for sitting in an exit row.<\/p>\n<p>If you are willing to pay the premium for the extra 7-8 inches of legroom, you can do so when you check in, as early as 24 hours before scheduled take-off.
