\"\"<\/img><\/a> OK Go’s new music video has been making its rounds on the Internet lately, and for good reason \u2013 it features an amazing Rube Goldberg machine that’s synchronized to the music of their new song "This Too Shall Pass."\n<\/p>\n

But did you know the video was filmed in an Echo Park warehouse, and the Rube Goldberg machine was designed by an L.A. firm<\/a>? The Eastsider LA has a breakdown<\/a> of the locals OK Go used to film the video, and Wired Magazine<\/a> has a detailed explanation of how the whole thing works:\n<\/p>\n

For nearly four minutes \u2014 captured in a single, unbroken camera shot \u2014 the machine rolls metal balls down tracks, swings sledgehammers, pours water, unfurls flags and drops a flock of umbrellas from the second story, all perfectly synchronized with the song. \u2026 The wooden tracks used to guide metal balls at the beginning of the video had to be cleaned and waxed to keep dust from slowing down the balls and making them stick. And the angle of that board was set at a precise 3.4 degrees of incline, which was perfect for the timing but sometimes led the balls to jump the track.\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
