They employ around 1,300 personnel between its offices in Ireland and abroad. They build, own, and operate power stations and wind farms, and also provide a full range of engineering and consultancy services to clients in the power sector worldwide. They also provide consultancy services to non-utility Clients.<\/p>\n<p>General: Our Civil &amp; Structural Engineering Department wish to recruit an experienced Professional Senior Geotechnical Engineer. The successful candidate will join the existing Geotechnical team in providing a wide range of geotechnical services to in-house Civil &amp; Structural Design and Construction Teams, Project Inception and Investment Teams, Due Diligence Teams and Dam Safety and Monitoring Teams. Overseas short assignments are a feature of the position.<\/p>\n<p>\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>The key responsibilities of the role will include: <br \/>\n&bull; Provision of strong geotechnical technical expertise and leadership. <br \/>\n&bull; Design Lead, Supervision and Approval of Detailed Geotechnical Designs and Analyses of foundations, retaining structures, ground improvement schemes and groundwater control systems. <br \/>\n&bull; Interpretation of ground conditions and geotechnical design parameters. <br \/>\n&bull; Development of Project Geotechnical Risk Registers including Mitigation and Response Plans. <br \/>\n&bull; Failure Investigations, Analysis and Reporting. <br \/>\n&bull; Slope stability analysis in soil and rock <br \/>\n&bull; Dam and Embankment Stability Analysis and Monitoring <br \/>\n&bull; Soft ground (incl. peat) Engineering <br \/>\n&bull; Earthworks Designs for Roads <br \/>\n&bull; Initial Desk Study and Walk-over Site Evaluations <br \/>\n&bull; Implementation of Procedures relating to investigating &amp; dealing with contaminated land. <br \/>\n&bull; Lead in the Preparation of SI Tender and Contract Documentation, Tender Evaluation Reports and Contract Award. <br \/>\n&bull; Manage &amp; Interpret Site Investigation Contracts incl production of SI Interpretive Reports <br \/>\n&bull; Effective Management of Resources <br \/>\n&bull; Preparation of Technical Reports. <br \/>\n&bull; Conform to Quality Procedures <br \/>\n&bull; Fully Embrace our Safety Culture <br \/>\n&bull; Adoption of Sustainability Techniques and Best Practice. <br \/>\nThe Candidate<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills: <br \/>\n&bull; Familiarity with Applicable Codes and Standards and Industry best practice (including introductory knowledge of Eurocode 7) <br \/>\n&bull; Experience with Soil Mechanics Computer Analysis and Design Packages (e.g. Plaxis, Slope, SID, etc.) including experience of finite element modelling and analysis techniques and software. <br \/>\n&bull; Experienced in working with a wide range of soil types including peat and karst ground. <br \/>\n&bull; Knowledge of recent relevant Research\/Developments in Geotechnical areas pertinent to our business.. <br \/>\n&bull; Excellent Communication and Teamworking Skills <br \/>\nQualifications\/Experience <br \/>\n&bull; Recognised Primary Degree in Civil Engineering <br \/>\n&bull; Recognised Post-Graduate Degree in Geotechnics\/Soil Mechanics <br \/>\n&bull; Chartered Membership of a relevant geotechnical institution. <br \/>\n&bull; Minimum 7 Years Relevant Experience<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dublin, Wreay Group &nbsp; &nbsp; Our client is one of Europe&#8217;s Leading engineering and consultancy organisations.
