In 2009, for example, the &#8220;anti-jihadists&#8221; courted controversy by bringing far-right Dutch leader <a href=\"http:\/\/reason.com\/archives\/2008\/03\/27\/in-defense-of-geert-wilders\">Geert Wilders<\/a> to Washington.<\/p>\n<p>In Dutch elections yesterday, <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/europe\/8549155.stm\">Wilders scored<\/a> some major victories.<span id=\"more-78300\"><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A party that calls Islam a backward religion, wants a ban on headscarves in public life and has compared the Koran to Hitler&#8217;s Mein Kampf has made major gains in local elections in the Netherlands.
