Garner.\u00a0 Nothing is more endearing<br \/>\nthan to honor a loved one passed and to bestow a purposeful and<br \/>\nmeaningful tribute to their memory.\u00a0 Kenny, as he was fondly known by<br \/>\nso many, will always be remembered and honored as a man who gave so<br \/>\nmuch to so many and for touching the lives, hearts and souls of<br \/>\nliterally thousands. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nAlthough finding the words to convey my feelings on the first<br \/>\nanniversary of my very painful loss is difficult, I reflect on my son\u2019s<br \/>\npassing and I think of not how Kenny died but how he lived and the<br \/>\nlegacy he left with all of us, and I smile and a sense of calm comes<br \/>\nover me.\u00a0 I remember that no matter how long we exist, we have our<br \/>\nmemories and that Kenny my son you haven\u2019t gone away, because you are<br \/>\nforever in all of our hearts and your spirit continues to live on in<br \/>\neach of us every day.\u00a0 Also, although we all continue to mourn your<br \/>\nloss, we are comforted in knowing that for one year now you have been<br \/>\nseated at the right hand of the supreme chief, \u201cChief Jesus.\u201d\u00a0 As I<br \/>\nlook toward the day when we all shall be reunited with you again, the<br \/>\nfollowing phrase brings me comfort: \u00a0<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center; font-style: italic;\"><\/br><br \/>\n<br \/><\/br><br \/>\n\u201cThis day is remembered and quietly kept,<br \/><\/br><br \/>\nNo words are needed, we shall never forget,<br \/><\/br><br \/>\nFor those we love don&#8217;t go away,<br \/><\/br><br \/>\nThey walk beside us every day.<br \/><\/br><br \/>\nUnseen and unheard, but always near,<br \/><\/br><br \/>\nSo loved, so missed, and so very dear.\u201d<br \/><\/br>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/br><br \/>\nLove,<br \/><\/br><br \/>\nMom<\/p>\n<p>\nMary Garner mother of Kenneth Garner<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">Mary Garner is available for interviews via Media Relations Section.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March 1st marked the one-year anniversary of the sudden and untimely death of my very dear son and friend, and former Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Kenneth O.
